Today we’re talking about a technique called eglomise, which means “glass gilded” in French. The eglomise process decorates glass by painting on the back or reverse side, sometimes gilding with gold or metal leaf.
The two pieces in the center of this sofa were done using eglomise, and perfectly tie together the space with their colors and design. Eglomise is a technique that preserves the exposed front of the artwork and allows the paint to reflect gracefully through the glass.
There are countless art techniques that create pieces to add the finishing touch to any space. We would love for you to visit our showroom and see all of the beautiful artwork we carry.
Have a wonderful Monday!
